From the Puerto Plata International Airport (POP), turn left onto the North Coast highway (route 5) and drive East through the towns of Sosua, Cabarete, Islabon, Sabaneta, Veragua and Cana Dulce. Watch for the numbered road signs, listing the kilometers from Puerto Plata to the town of Nagua. Las Canas is at (approximately) km 88. If you get to the town of Gaspar Hernandez, you have traveled 4km too far. On the right side of the road (coming from Puerto Plata) look for the small sign that says "Las Canas" (the sign also has the Brugal Company Rum logo on it) and take the next left. You can also look for the large red and white "Beachcomber" sign on the left, which is right at the turnoff. Turn on to the dirt road and travel 2.2 km to Mirabon.
